Ascot Training Track

What was delivered:

• Enhanced Training Capacity: Expanded the thoroughbred training capacity at Ascot by introducing an alternative fast work surface.
• Track Replenishment: Upgraded the existing training track by replenishing it with a new synthetic surface, optimizing it for fast work.
• Jog Track Improvements: Extended, widened, and upgraded the existing jog tracks using refurbished synthetic material, ensuring better durability and performance.
• Arena Construction: Successfully constructed two new arena areas to support diverse training activities.
• The project involved replacing the existing synthetic surface with a high-performance Polytrack surface. Excess materials were utilized to replenish and enhance the jog track and to construct two new training arenas, thereby expanding the overall training infrastructure.
• The synthetic track delivered measures 1,930 meters in length and 9.2 meters in width.
• The jog track spans 1,550 meters in length, with a width ranging from 4 to 9 meters, while the arenas are each 40 by 20 meters.
• Delivered ahead of programme and under budget.

Challenges:

The new synthetic track was completed ahead of programme, despite the challenges of restricted on-site hours due to continuous equine training and numerous inclement weather days, that impacted the work schedule.
